City 2nd XI vs Stirling 3s: Sunday 20th November 2011

On Sunday Dunfermline City 2nds extended their unbeaten streak to three games with a hard fought and well deserved 1-0 victory over Stirling 3rds.
 
The game started at a fast pace with both teams creating early chances with Alan Green and Gareth Edwards both testing the keeper from well worked short corner routines. The teams went into the break at stalemate largely due to outstanding defensive performances from the clubs newcomers Robbie Swinton and Alan preston.
 
City started the second half the faster and quickly put Stirling under pressure which did not let up all afternoon and got their reward ten minutes from time when another well worked short corner was finished expertly by Gareth Edwards after their captain Fraser Burns was unlucky not to be awared a penalty after being brought down in the area.
 
City now go into their last game before the winter break next Saturday against Edinburgh high on confidence and looking to keep in contension with the promotion places.
